On the Radar: Brown Tones

Why is brown such an underrated color when it comes to clothing? And color in general if you think about it.

I feel like when we think of brown in fashion, we only think of shoes and bags. Why not the actual clothes, too?

Gosh, I remember when I was in elementary school, I had this brown top. It was a scoop neck, had buttons down the front and it had 3/4 sleeves. It was my favorite brown top I owned and I wore it all the time (maybe a little too much) and I loved that no other girl wore the color.

Anyway, brown is such a rich color and I think it needs to be acknowledged more! Plus, it’s flattering on every skin tone, it’s timeless, and most importantly, it’s versatile.

If it’s not a monochromatic brown look, brown and cream or brown and beige are my favorites. Sue me, but I love brown and black together too. Oh gosh, and brown and white. I think these tones together are straight up classic and chic. Plus, these colors kind of remind me of dessert… and there isn’t anything wrong with looking a little sweet every now and then. ;)

If you think about brown in terms of makeup or home items, the color still holds these key values of versatility and timelessness as well as just being beautifully natural. We love natural.

Is brown the new black? I think yes.
