Blooming with Urban Outfitters
Since the land before time, I have always wanted to create photos for Urban Outfitters. Not going to lie, for about two years now, I’ve kept a running list of all my photos ideas for certain types of clothes they have, just in case one day it would happen. One day..

I was on my laptop one morning, binge watching my current favorite Youtube channel (Emma Chamberlain), when I received an email from Urban Outfitters to do an Instagram collaboration. Did I scream at the top of my lungs? Yes. Did I, the not-dramatic-Haley that I am, possibly even shed a tear? Um, YES.

This was a big moment. HUGE, actually. I can’t even explain in words how big of a moment this was for me. So much so, that right then and there I booked a ticket to California so I could take photos in the wildflowers by the coast. I could not disappoint, I didn’t have an option. I had to produce my best work. This has seriously been my DREAM collaboration since day one on Instagram. This is also why I wanted to make a blog post - to not only mark this special moment, but to also share a ton more photos on here with you and talk a little more about this special day.

It’s crazy actually, I still remember the first time I stepped foot in Urban Outfitters. I was in middle school visiting Los Angeles for the first time and was on Melrose Ave. I thought I came across the coolest store and couldn’t wait to tell all my friends about it when I returned home. It was quirky, trendy, young, and fun. (More importantly, it wasn’t Abercrombie and Juicy Couture that literally every single person was wearing at the time.) I immediately fell in love because there was so much room for individuality within their brand.
Specifically though, what I’ve always been the most attracted to is their feminine and flowey apparel. Whenever I think of Urban Outfitters, I think of summer sunsets, wild flower fields, and the words “strong and bold yet delicate.” I think of running, twirling, feeling free and being able to express myself to the core.

Come to think of it, I have some fond memories of Urban Outfitters. Last summer when I was a sales associate at Anthropologie, I would always step into UO on my lunch break and try on all the dresses. It wasn’t rare to see me with a shopping bag as I came back to work, haha. That’s the summer I also did my first professional photoshoot with a photographer and what was I wearing? My floral jumpsuit I just bought at UO. It’s funny, I never really thought about my memories of the brand until I began writing this blog post.
